Virtual Computer Classes Exclusively for Tamarac Senior Residents

  • When: Classes Begin January 11 and run for six weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2:00 pm – 3:15 pm
  • Where: Virtual
  • Cost: Free
  • More Details: Sponsored by SoFIA, the South Florida Institute on Aging, these classes are a great opportunity to expand your computer skills and gain increased confidence in using the computer. You must commit to all six weeks and have some knowledge of computers and email.
    • To enroll, you will need:
      • A computer or tablet
      • A front forward-facing camera
      • Internet access/email

Wildlife, Me and Trees Please Class with DIY Plant Pot

When: January 14, 7pm – 8pm

Where: Virtual

Cost: Free

More Details: Do you love DIY projects? Join Tamarac’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Youth Environmental Alliance in a virtual class where you’ll learn how to build a habitat that is beautiful and enjoyable to you and wildlife. This class is a fun DIY wildlife gardening project, which includes a biodegradable pot for planting seeds or seedlings in.

Tamarac Community Farmers Market 

  • When: Every Sunday, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Where: Veteran’s Memorial Park, 7825 Southgate Blvd., Tamarac, Florida
  • Cost: Free
  • More Details: The farmer’s market is a great place to shop for fresh produce, tea, honey, sauces, baked goods, hummus, pickles, and other artisanal goodies. At the market, you’ll be able to meet the producers and even sample their locally prepared, all-natural products.
