This week’s Commission meeting has several important items on the agenda. Of course, all Commission meetings have important agenda items; keeping up with City meetings is the best and often easiest way to know what’s happening at City Hall, see where your tax dollars are being spent, and be in the know about the latest City projects.
Here are a few highlights from this week’s agenda:
Swimming Pool Management Services
“A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, authorizing the appropriate City officials to execute Agreement Amendment #5 between the City of Tamarac and Jeff Ellis Management, LLC, exercising the option to renew the agreement to provide Swimming Pool Management Services for the Caporella Aquatic Center and Water’s Edge Park, at a cost of $349,983.90 annually, plus shared revenues, for a two-year period effective January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2022; approving funding from the appropriate accounts; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date.”
Art on the University Drive Bridge Overpass
“TR13523 – Authorization to Award Task Authorization Number 21-03D to Stantec Consulting Services for design and related services for Art on the University Drive Bridge Overpass in an amount not to exceed $75,030.00. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, approving Task Authorization No. 21-03D and authorizing the appropriate City Officials to execute Task Authorization No. 21-03D with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. To provide professional design, permitting and construction phase related services, attached hereto as Exhibit “A”, for the university Drive Overpass Public Art Project in accordance with the city’s Consulting Engineering agreement as authorized by resolution no. R-2016-80, for an amount not to exceed $75,030.00; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. Commission District(s): District 4.”
Living Wage Amendment
“TO2439 – Amendment to the City of Tamarac Code of Ordinances to include “Tamarac Employee Living Wage” An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, pertaining to Living Wages; creating provisions for Living Wage for City employees; amending Chapter 6 of the City’s Code of Ordinances, entitled “Finance and Taxation”, specifically amending Article 1, entitled “In General” by creating Section 6-1, to be entitled “Tamarac Employee Living Wage”; providing for codification; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; providing for an effective date. Commission District(s): Citywide.”
