Tamarac District 1 City Commissioner Marlon D. Bolton, has successfully qualified in his reelection bid by petition. To qualify by petition means that Bolton gathered enough signatures from registered voters in Tamarac to secure his place on the ballot, showcasing his community-driven approach and widespread support.
Bolton also impressively raised more than $110,000.00 between his campaign account and his political action committee, Friends of Marlon Bolton PAC. This is the biggest fundraising haul of any elected official in the history of Tamarac.
Bolton, who was first elected in 2016, and reelected in 2020 by a landslide, has been a vocal advocate for the community, pushing for initiatives such as the Mainlands 1-5 and the Prospect Road replacement projects, installation of buffer walls along Prospect Road and Commercial Blvd., installation of entry-way signage around the city, creating the One Tamarac multicultural festival, and the renovation of Caporella Park to the tune of almost 5 million dollars, outfitting the park with an amphitheater, splash pad, concession stand, picnic shelters, and more. His dedication to the city and its residents has earned him a reputation as a tireless public servant.

During the pandemic, he demonstrated his commitment to the community by purchasing masks for residents who needed them. He currently updates residents every Tuesday via his regional podcast, district call, and mobile office. Bolton also holds weekly tea parties in residents’ homes to hear their neighbor’s concerns.
