Our City Commission is hard at work through the holiday period. In light of City Attorney Samuel S. Goren’s recent resignation, there is a Special City Commission meeting today; our Commissioners will hear three oral presentations from vendors interested in providing Interim City Attorney Services. Following the presentations, the Commission will hold an Evaluation Meeting.
Note that this meeting will be held virtually. Pursuant to Florida Statutes, the portion of the meeting during which the Commissioners will hear the oral presentations will be closed to the public. During the oral presentations, all members of the public must leave the room.
Currently, the schedule for the presentations is as follows*:
9:10 am – 9:55 am: Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A.
10:00 am – 10:45 am: Ottinot Law, P.A.
10:50 am – 11:35 am: Torcivia, Donlon & Goddeau, P.A.

The public portion of the meeting will proceed after the oral presentations. Depending on the outcome of the oral presentations, there may be a motion to select a firm for Interim City Attorney Services.
The Commission will also review the attorney’s report submitted by John Herin, Esq. and possibly make a motion regarding the self-storage project at Rock Island Road and Commercial Boulevard.
