Tamarac’s FY 2021 Budget Is Up for Its Final Public Hearing

The Final Public Budget Hearing will take place on Tuesday September 29 beginning at 5:05 pm. This hearing is the public’s final opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed Millage Rate as well as the Operating and Capital Budget.­­­­­

Currently, the total tentative budget for FY 2021 is $184,292,023, which includes $417,242 from Community Development Block Grants.

A Brief Overview of Tamarac’s Management and Budget Services Department

The Management and Budget Services division administers Tamarac’s budget development process as well as its six-year asset management program.

In addition, the Division is responsible for:

  • Preparing the City’s budget as well as two forecast years
  • Applying for and administering grants
  • Managing several assessment programs:
    • Fire Rescue
    • Solid Waste
    • Stormwater Management
    • Nuisance Abatement

The Division also supports other departments by providing the following services in support of City operations:

  • Financial planning, analysis, and forecasting
  • Program evaluation
  • Management analysis
