In case you missed it, Tamarac – indeed South Florida – has had quite the winning Lottery year.
Back in May, Ryan Fizzano, a 21-year-old Tamarac resident, claimed his over $2 million share of the $4.25 million FLORIDA LOTTO® jackpot. Mr. Fizzano chose to receive a one-time lump-sum payment of $1,792,420.10. He purchased the winning FLORIDA LOTTO® Quick Pick ticket from the Plantation Winn-Dixie located at 901 North Nob Hill Road.
Then, just a few months later, Alan Stein, a 55-year-old Tamarac resident claimed the $2.5 million FLORIDA LOTTO® jackpot from the drawing held on August 26, 2020. Mr. Stein also chose to receive a one-time, lump-sum payment; in his case, the payment amounted to $2,106,750.41. He purchased the winning FLORIDA LOTTO® ticket from Publix located at 5881 University Drive in Tamarac.
Each retailer will receive a bonus commission for selling the winning ticket; the Plantation Winn-Dixie will receive $25,000 and the Tamarac Publix will receive $30,000.
In late September, according to Local10, two Broward County men, 53-year-old Joshua Smith of Fort Lauderdale and 58-year-old Paolo Ferorelli of Pompano Beach, each won $1 million from scratch-off tickets. The retailers who sold these tickets will also receive bonus commissions.
